Materials
All carpets sold by The Carpet Shoppe are warranted to be free of manufacturing
defects. All manufacturers’ warranties concerning wear, performance, texture retention
(anti-crush, anti-mat), stain resistance and cleanability are strictly their own. These
manufacturers’ warranties are very narrowly defined, have many conditions and
exclusions and most are pro-rated. Please read the entire warranty. Ask for the exact
warranty information you need for the product you have purchased from your
salesperson.
Installation
The Carpet Shoppe will repair or restretch any carpet up to three years from the date
the installation was completed. This warranty covers only the standard practice of the
installation trade and does not cover damage due to improper cleaning, tears, pulls,
cuts, burns, pet damage, abnormal use of carpet, or installations made in uncontrolled
environments. Refer to manufacturers’ specifications.
Carpet seams are not invisible. Placement of seams will be determined by cut layout
and room size. Carpet seams that are made using the standard trade practices, yet are
visible, are excluded from any warranty claims on the basis of visibility. Cascading light
from windows or doors may highlight seams that normally would not be noticed. Seams
that fall in these areas are not covered under this warranty.
Tile Installed Over Concrete
All tile floors sold by The Carpet Shoppe are warranted by the manufacturer to be free
of manufacturing defects. If it is determined that the tile floor has a manufacturing
defect, it will be repaired or replaced including installation cost, provided The Carpet
Shoppe installed the tile. Some movement in the substrate can cause tile and grout to
develop cracks. This is normal since tile will not flex. Cracked tile, caulk or grout is
excluded from any warranty.
Tile Installed Over Wood
Wood is not 100% dimensionally stable and will react to changing environment of a
home, sometimes brought on by changing humidity levels or structural changes. This
condition may cause the tile and grout to crack even when installed over an approved
underlayment and is not covered by our warranties.
Tile Installed Out Of Doors
The climactic changes and freeze/thaw cycle precludes any warranty of labor or
materials where tile has been installed where exposed to elements unless installed to
guidelines of Tile Council of North America (TCNA).
Tile In Wet Areas
Water can penetrate some tiles and grout. Waterproofing materials and installation
guidelines by Tile Council of North America (TCNA) will be required for installation to be
warranted. Urethane or silicone caulks are used to seal where any change of plane
occurs. This may require periodic maintenance, and is the responsibility of the
homeowner.
Installation
The Carpet Shoppe installs tile in accordance with guidelines established by the Tile
Council of America (TCNA). Defects in the installation of ceramic tile will be corrected
for a period of one year from the date the installation was completed. This warranty
covers only the standard practice of the installation trade and does not cover damage
due to improper cleaning, improper maintenance or damage due to subfloor movement.
