Ranny Trainor

Commercial Estimator
Since 1987

Ranny Trainor is a part of the commercial sales staff at The Carpet Shoppe. When he started at The Carpet Shoppe, he was in the commercial sales department. He then moved on to become a manager for the ceramic tile department. Before his time here, he worked for W.C. Tingle, an Armstrong distributor. He has been with The Carpet Shoppe for 32 years but has over 35 years of experience in the commercial field.
Through the years, problem-solving has been a large part of Ranny’s job. He recalls a time when he received a call from a client concerned about dark lines that were showing up on the carpet that was being installed. The job was extensive and over half-way finished. After arriving on-site, Ranny realized the lines appeared because the track lighting above was reflecting off the carpet. He took his coat off and laid it on the floor, and sure enough, the shadows appeared there as well. When he left the job, he told the installer he would “take the shadow with him” when he left! One of the most interesting parts of his job is the people he meets.

Ranny has been married to his wife Marcia since 1979 and is a life member of the Heart of The Ozarks Sertoma Club. He served as club president from 1999 to 2000.
